Do I need to understand about Blockchain or Crypto to start playing?
No. Although the game runs using Blockchain technology, players only need to familiarise themselves with confirming transactions on Metamask in order to play. The game itself runs using industry standard technology and was built with the Unity engine.
Our aim is for you to learn about blockchain technology while you are playing the game - and you will then be able to use your new knowledge to venture into other aspects of blockchain and crypto!
There will be a web2 version of the game that does not run on the blockchain at all - so you will have the opportunity to familiarise yourself with the game before taking the next step into playing on the blockchain.
What is a cryptocurrency wallet?
A cryptocurrency wallet is a secure location to store your digital items. That includes ingame items (non-fungible tokens) as well as your crypto. Crypto wallets keep your private keys – the passwords that give you access to your cryptocurrencies – safe and accessible, allowing you to send and receive cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum.
It’s very important to keep these details as secure as you would with your bank details or your credit card so make sure you follow the recommended steps.
Once your wallet is set up you can link it Tanks! For Playing via our website to make purchases, sign in and trade with other players as well as storing ingame items and rewards. We recommend using a Metamask wallet.

What is Metamask?
Metamask is a software cryptocurrency wallet. It allows users to access their Metamask wallet through a browser extension or via mobile app, allowing interaction with decentralised applications. You can send and receive cryptocurrencies and NFTs via a Metamask wallet.

What is Ethereum, BSC and Polygon?
There is not one single blockchain. Ethereum, BSC - Binance Smart Chain, and Polygon the current blockchain networks that are compatible with the Tanks! For Playing token $TANKS. You do NOT need to be on all 3 to be involved with Tanks! For Playing.
Currently, the Tanks! For Playing Beta Tournament is running on the Rinkeby blockchain - this is a Ethereum blockchain used for testing.
